Dr. Agnivesh Pani

Dr. Agnivesh is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at IIT (BHU) Varanasi. With several years of research experience in transportation planning, he has, over time, contributed to many research areas such as freight travel demand model systems, city logistics, last-mile delivery planning, aggregation approaches for enhanced model accuracy, and multi-objective optimization algorithms for freight-based zoning of cities. More recently, his research is exploring the potential of social media data analytics and public transit last-mile planning with a core focus on Varanasi as a city. He has over 25 publications in leading transportation journals such as Transportation Research: Part E, Transportation Research: Part D, Transport Geography, Transport Policy, and Transportation Research Record to his credit, along with a best paper award from freight transportation planning (AT015) committee at the annual Transportation Research Board (TRB) annual meeting 2020. Prior to joining IIT (BHU), he was working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Memphis, USA. He received his Ph.D. and Master's in Engineering from BITS Pilani during which he was also a visiting scholar at the Hiroshima University, Japan.
