About the Lab

Our research focuses on improving the scientific understanding of smart cities through development and application of data-driven models and methods to better plan, manage and operate urban transport systems.

Interested in Joining Our Research Group?

 PhD Positions - We are continuously​ looking for talented and young students to join our research group to do a PhD in Transportation. The selected students will be funded and enrolled into the Ph.D. programme offered by IIT (BHU) Varanasi. Potential candidates with a strong analytical background and an outstanding M.Tech degree in Transportation Engineering or M.Plan degree in Planning or a related field are encouraged to apply. Project Staff Positions - The available positions of project staff (Project Associates/Data Collection Assistants) will be posted in our social media sites. Please get in touch if you are looking for an opportunity.

Undergraduate Projects - The undergraduate students of Civil Engineering at IIT(BHU) are regularly given opportunities to be a part of SCULPT{Lab} through their UG Projects (3rd Year)/Exploratory Projects (2nd Year). Students from other departments (e.g., Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, and Mechanical) are encouraged to get in touch with us, if they are interested in taking up challenging projects in the area of transportation engineering. 

Internship Positions - Summer (June-July) or Winter Internship (December-January) programme is open for students from other institutions in India or Abroad. If you are interested, please email us your expression of interest in advance. B.Tech or B.Plan students are encouraged, in particular, to apply during their 2nd or 3rd year itself.
